Resolution and Position Statement Regarding the Reform Of
Florida’s Present Tort Law
WHEREAS the present Florida Tort Law was largely drafted years ago, as amended piece-meal over the years, and subject to interpretations over the years by the Florida Supreme Court; and the resulting body of Florida Tort Law now contains provisions that are unfair and unjust and needlessly expensive to the Court system and to the citizens of Florida; and
WHEREAS simple Fairness calls for tort lawsuits to be filed in the county in
Florida where the tort and the alleged injury occurred; and
Resolution Of
Working Statement Regarding Realistic And
Attainable
National Healthcare Reforms To Strengthen Individual
Choices And
To Preserve Freedoms
WHEREAS the Suwannee County,
FL Republican Executive Committee has considered at length the options
available to the U.S. Congress in order to achieve realistic and attainable
legislative enactments that would maximize individual choices and preserve our
freedoms while accomplishing sensible healthcare legislative reforms; and
WHEREAS those reform goals,
long overdue, are as follows, to-wit:
a) to allow purchase of health insurance across state lines by
individuals and companies.
b) to encourage individual ownership of health insurance
plans, in the same manner as individuals purchase auto and home owners
insurance. Individual health insurance plans shall be tax deductible, just like
employer paid plans currently are.
c) to allow individuals who like their current
employer provided health insurance plan to convert it to an individual plan when
they retire or change jobs.
